Success of the 2016 PSSP International Seminar

Monday, 29 August 2016 – Located at the IPB International Convention Center, the Center for Primate Animal Studies (PSSP) LPPM-IPB successfully held an event titled “International Seminar: Integrating Biological Studies to Promote Primate Conservation Efforts”. Participants from various groups attended to fill the room. The speakers present, both from inside and outside the country felt enthusiastic throughout the seminar. The activity began with a speech from Dr. drh. Joko Pamungkas as Head of PSSP LPPM-IPB, then the speech was continued by Dr.Ir.Prastowo, M.Eng (Head of LPPM-IPB) as well as inaugurating the opening of the PSSP National Seminar LPPM-IPB. The excitement of the PSSP LPPM-IPB national seminar began when the photo session took place, where participants from various strata both from within and outside the country mingled with each other.

The seminar activity is divided into 2 (two) plenary sessions. The first plenary session was led by moderator Dr. drh. Joko Pamungkas, M.Sc. The speakers who filled in the first plenary session included Ir. Bambang Dahono Adji, MM, MSi (Director of Biodiversity Conservation), Prof. Randall C. Kyes, PhD (Director of the Center for Global Field Study, Washington National Primate Research Center, University of Washington), Dr. drh. R. Taufiq Purna Nugraha (Biology Research Center, LIPI), Dr. Ir. Entang Iskandar, MSi (Head of Conservation Program, PSSP LPPM-IPB).

While the second plenary session was led by moderator Dr. Dyah Perwitasari Farajallah, MSc. The speakers who filled in the second plenary session included Drh. Ida Junyati Masnur (The Aspinall Foundation Indonesia Program), Dr. Matthew F.S.X. Novak (Assistant Professor of Psychology, Central Oregon Community College), Dr. Wichitra Singhirunnusorn (Director, Multidisciplinary Research Center for Environmental Sutainability (MRCES), Mahasarkham University).

Overall, the national seminar took place with full solemnity until the end of the program at 3:30 p.m.
