PSSP Talk Show with SMA / SMK in the City of Bogor

[Saturday, October 1, 2016] Primate Animal Study Center (PSSP) LPPM-IPB assisted by Himpro Satwaliar FKH-IPB held a talk show with the title “Caring for Primate Animals, Preserving Indonesian Primate Animals”. The participants of the activity were high school and private high school students in the city of Bogor accompanied by a Supervising Teacher from each school. The event became a means of education for high school / vocational students to get to know more about Indonesian native primate animals.
Before the core event began, the high school and vocational school students registered as participants in order to then take part in the safari introduction to primates guided by Himpro Satwaliar FKH-IPB. On the safari, the high school / vocational school students get the introduction of the characteristics of Indonesia’s endangered primate species.

The talk show began + 45 minutes after the introduction to primate wildlife safari. The talk show moderator is Dr. drh. R.P. Agus Lelana, SpMP, MS. He is one of the PSSP staff of LPPM-IPB. The program from the moderator was very energetic, so the students felt enthusiastic about following the program.

The talk show speakers were staff from the PSSP LPPM-IPB, including Dr. drh. Joko Pamungkas, M.Sc (Head of Center), Dr. dr. Irma H. ​​Suparto, MS (Executive Secretary), and Dr. Ir. Entang Iskandar, M.Sc (Head of Conservation Program). The material presented by the three speakers was quite interesting for students, so many questions arose from the students.

The series of events was closed by drawing conclusions from Dr. drh. R.P. Agus Lelana, SpMP, MS as the moderator of the talk show, with the hope that the event can open new insights for high school / vocational school students and provide awareness to keep preserving native Indonesian primate animals.
