Biomedical Training
Center for Primate Animal Studies (PSSP) LPPM – IPB in collaboration with IPB International Certified Training (IICT), PT Bogor Life Science and Technology conducted training on 30 – 31 March 2015 at IPB Science Park, Taman Kencana 3, Bogor. The training was held entitled “Use of Laboratory Animals in Biomedical Research” The material presented included:
- Ethics of Using Laboratory Animals in Research, Testing and Education
- Occupational Health and Safety at Animal Facilities
- Biology and Physiology of Laboratory Animals: Mice, Mice and Rabbits
- Health and Disease Monitoring in Laboratory Animals
- Introduction to Analgesia, Anesthesia and Euthanasia
- Animal Handling and Control (Handling & Restraint)
- Husbandry and Laboratory Animal Facilities Management
This training activity for paramedics uses presentation and discussion methods in the classroom. But there is also a practicum session with a proportion of 25% of the training time held on the second day.
The Biomedical training was attended by 16 participants from various research centers, both government and private parties as well as state universities, which were guided by 3 instructors from the Center for Primate Animal Studies (PSSP) LPPM-IPB, including DR. Drh. Diah Iskandriati, Drh. Permanawati, Drh. Fitriya Nur Annisa Dewi, Ph.D.
