ACUC Training

ACUC Training, 2 February 2016

This training activity is held by PSSP LPPM-IPB every 1 year. ACUC training starts the annual training activities held by other PSPMP LPPM-IPB such as Biosafety Training, OHS Training (Occupational Safety / Occupational Safety and Health), and Fire Fighting Basic Training and Training. The benefits of this training are to remind researchers of the importance of animal ethics and animal welfare, especially laboratory animals that are always used in every scientific research activity in this institution.

ACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) or in Indonesian KPKPHP4 (Welfare Monitoring and Use of Research, Testing, Breeding and Education Commission) is an independent committee tasked with overseeing protocols, programs, facilities and research activities in the PSSP. In this activity participants were reminded of the 5 principles of animal welfare and ethical principles of laboratory animal research. “Replace, reduce, refine are 3 ethical principles of research that cannot be ignored.
