The Primate Animal Study Center with the Animal Kingdom Organized the Association’s National Workshop and Conference
On March 22 and 23, 201, the Primate Animal Study Center together with the Association of Indonesian Exotic Aquatic and Animal Veterinarians Association held a 4th Native Animal Workshop and National Conference.
Located at the Primate Animal Study Center, on the first day there was a workshop on Collection Techniques and Sample Transportation Based on Anatomical Pathological Analysis, Clinical and Molecular Pathology. As the keynote speaker was Drh Silvia Arin Prabandari, MSi, APVet head of the PSSP Anotomy Pathology Laboratory, Lis Rosmanah, MSi Head of the Clinical Pathology Lab and Dr. Uus Saepuloh, MBiomed Head of the PSSP Biotech Laboratory. The three speakers explained how to collect samples from the field so that they are durable and can be analyzed properly in the intended laboratory. Then the workshop is held in the Lab. Pathology and Lab. Biotechnology Center for Primate Animal Studies.
The second day, the Immoblization Technique Workshop on Wildlife using Tulup and Wind Rifles by presenting the speaker Dr. Ir Entang Iskandar, MSi with a presentation entitled “Primate Animal Disorders and Approaches and Handling”. The second speaker was Drh Fitriya Nur Anissa Dewi PhD, a presentation on “Consideration of Aspects of Animal Welfare in Handling Conflict of Primate Animals and Humans Discussing from the Animal Ethics Side”, Dr. Fitriya was chairman of the PSSP Ethics Commission. The third speaker was Drh Syafrie Edward from the Ragunan Zoo giving a theory about “Animal Immobilization”. Furthermore, doctor Syafrie and the team from TMR gave the practice of making and using tulips and air guns.
After the workshop, the 4th National Conference of the Association of Indonesian Aquatic and Animal Veterinarians Veterinarians was completed with the selection of new leaders and administrators.
