30th Anniversary Korean Association for Laboratory Animal Science (KALAS) International Symposium was held in Incheon Songdo Convesia between August 12th and August 14th 2015. KALAS was founded around 1985 with only several members and now it has developed into a large biological association with 1100 members. This international conference also presented the successful growth of KALAS in the past 30 years.
The theme of this conference was titled “Deciphering Secrets of Humans in Animal Models”. Dr. Joko Pamungkas, MSc (Director of Primate Research Center) was invited by KALAS as guest speaker in one of the symposiums topic on “Primate Resources and International Primate Transportation in Asia”. He shared topic on “How Do We Tackle the Problem of Laboratory Animals Transportation? A Sustainable Alternate Solution for Laboratory Animals Use in Biomedical Research”.
