Dr. Silmi Mariya attended an oral presentation in Surabaya, in order to improve the development of science and technology in an increasingly advanced era. The University of Airlangga University’s Research and Development Center for Stem Cells holds an international symposium to meet the increasing needs in health services that demand the development of medical science as a basis for quality services based on scientific data, and prioritize patient safety involving medical personnel in it.

The symposium has the theme “International Conference on Stem Cell and Biomedical Science”, with the aim of handling patients in difficult cases and also developing technology in the health and scientific sectors of the fifth cell.

Through this symposium, it is expected to increase understanding of medicolegal applications of stem cells, increase participants’ understanding of stem cells and their scientific development, as well as improve research publications in the field of stem cells.

Focused on aspects of biology and the application of stem cell research, these activities include the development of technology in Embrionic Stem Cells, Tissue-specific Stem Cells, Cancer Stem Cells, Stem Cells on Destistry Applications, Development Studies, Genomics, Translational Research, Tissue Engineering.

The event was held at the Garuda Mukti Hall of the Airlangga University Campus, Jl. Dharmahusada Permai, Mulyorejo, Surabaya- Indonesia, 2-4 November 2018, which consists of the Plenary Lecture Symposium, Workshop, Research Competition, Oral and Presentation Poster, which was attended by practitioners, researchers and students.

The Center for Primate Animal Studies of IPB sent one of the research staff members, Dr. Silmi Mariya in this symposium, as a presenter in the oral presentation about research on the development of the three-dimensional culture technique Momosfir Macaca fascicularis and won the second best presenter of 33 presenters.
