What research can be done in PSSP – IPB?
The scope of research in PSSP-IPB in three scientific clusters that are relevant to primate animals, namely biology, conservation and biomedicine. Biology such as genetic monitoring, developmental biology, hormone analysis related to behavior and reproduction etc.; The conservation field conducts research on protected and unprotected Indonesian primate animals. Topics of research can be about breeding, population monitoring, behavior, etc. The scope of the research in the biomedical field is quite extensive apart from directly using primate animals as animal models of degenerative and non degenerative diseases such as animal models of hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, diabetic, obesity, HIV, human papilloma virus, dengue; also in vitro research using laboratory facilities at the PSSP.
