2017 Biosafety Training

Bogor, May 3, 2017 – Biosafety Training 2017 is a routine PSSP training program for LPPM-IPB that is held once a year and must be granted by all workers in the PSB PSB, both labor in the Laboratory, administration and housekeeping. This training is divided into two classes. The first class is for administrative and household employees with instructor Silmi Mariya, SSi, MSi. The second class is for staff researchers, paramedics, and laboratory technicians with instructor Dr. dr. Diah Iskandriati.

The purpose of the training is to recognize and understand the rules of work safety, understand the biohazard risk in the laboratory, understand the differences between the four Biological Risk Groups, have good work knowledge at certain laboratory levels (1-4), can use and understand the limitations of the Safety Cabinet, can take steps to be taken in the event of a work accident, also how to handle sharp objects used in experimental procedures, learn safe procedures for working with material from humans and animals, learn how to bring dangerous agents (dangerous goods) and able to carry out procedures for handling laboratory waste.
